While employed there, he helped the company establish an interactive multimedia department, as well as produce, design, and create national award winning Web Sites and CD-ROMs. Ryan is a graduate of Montana State University with a B.A. in Graphic Design and has over seven years of multimedia experience. CD-ROMs

What is a CD-ROM?

CD-ROM stands for Compact Disc Read Only Memory. In basic terms it’s a CD designed to be played in a computer (rather than your audio system). It can deliver images, sounds, video, and large presentations in a small package. A CD-ROM holds aproximately 550 MB of information. Roughly 30 minutes of quality video or 60 minutes of audio.

How do you make them?

We use a program called Director MX. Director allows us to combine art, photos, video, and deliver them in a self contained application that can play on both Mac & Windows computers without the need to load plug-ins or players.

What can you do with them?

Games, Digital Catalogs, and Interactive Brochures are a few of the many products you can deliver on CD-ROM. Not just an alternative to web sites, CD-ROMs can be partnered with a web site. The CD-ROM can deliver the large files (video, animation, sound) then link or download the latest content from the internet. To see some examples in action be sure to call and set up a demonstration. 406-585-1141

How much do they cost?

If your read the “What will it cost me?” (under the web site topic) you can apply the similar variables of size & features to costs of CD-ROMs. There is one main difference, because CD-ROMs require a certain amount of testing (operating sytems, plug-ins) & specialized software even our basic cd’s start at $2,000. However, once you have your master you can take your product to duplication, whether you send it off for duplication or burn them on your home computer you can produce a sleek & unique package for less than a $1.00 a disc.

Websites

What will it cost me?

Well let’s get right to it. Two main factors are most responsible for affecting price, size & features. Size or the amount of information (pages) for obvious reasons has a direct correlation to price. To no surprise a five page site is cheaper to produce than say a site with forty pages.

Features, the second factor, aren’t as simple. Features can both increase and decrease price. Take for example our forty page site, if we concluded that we actually only need five different template pages that were populated through a database feature, we can dynamically simulate a forty page site. Therefore a nominal increase to a five page site can result in a large price decrease from our original (not dynamic) forty page site, while delivering the same content. It is for this reason each project is scoped to deliver the best value for your dollar. With that being said we’ve done sites for as little as $1,500 to as much as $20,000 and more. Just remember a conversation is free. 406-585-1141

Why choose Future Farm?

Are you looking for a custom, captivating web site? Want more than a cookie cutter approach. Future Farm is about fresh ideas, and finding the right way to communicate your message. We encourage our clients to lead their industry, not be another clone. If you’re nodding your head we need to talk.

How long does it take?

On average most small to mid sized sites take 1-3 months. Actual production may only be 1-2 weeks, but we allow for review and revisions if needed. Content can be another factor to influence the schedule. To help speed things along we develop a content needed list, and can help source or develop content in house.

When can we start?

When can we meet? All projects start with an initial meeting to discuss goals, ideas, and just get to know each other. From this initial information Future Farm can usually put together an estimate along with a plan of action that can be revised & refined until we develop a final agreement to sign and work from.
