OVERVIEW:

DiMarzio® Pickups is one of the world’s leading brands for guitar pickups. They came to Future-Farm with the need to update and upgrade their existing website. During an initial discovery period we found many areas of need. The existing site was entirely static making the task of updating and maintanence a chore. The design had become dated and was not taking advantage of the new user internet speeds and monitor capabilities. Inheritantly the flash archtecture provided no SEO capabilities and relied only on direct traffic.

GOALS:

From the beginning we designed the new site archictecture around dynamic content inside a database. The database would both service the website and act as the primary source for their complete product line. Improve delivery speeds and use higher quality graphics. Expand the product descriptions, specs and related content. Develop new tools and features for users to explore their product. Implement an SEO strategy to capture and improve organic rankings.

STRATEGY:

Future-Farm started with a new sitemap reorganizing both the front end and new back end administration features. Once the sitemap was finalized preliminary back end work began, and the front end layout and design process was initiated. Upon final approval of the site layout, flash development began. Once the initial stages of the front end and back end development was completed the site was staged on a testing server for final development and approval. Since launch we have continued to support the site and added new content and relevant features.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

DiMarzio® has a solid and very successful site showcasing their world renown products. The experience is quick fun and provides many resources for people to explore their products. DiMarzio® manages and updates their product line on a daily basis continuing to grow their site, and have completely stopped print catalog production since the launch of the new site. Recently, our Flash SEO architecture was completed and the traffic and rankings continue to impress.
